Brock spent the majority of his youth split between a small town in Washington and Salt Lake City. Having played various sports through his teenage years Brock joined the Navy out of high school hoping to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Over those 6 years he went from being the skinny, fast teenager to a pudgy desk-worker with the mobility and strength of a cardboard tube.
He discovered SLC CrossFit in 2009 after losing some of the weight, but not improving any other fitness “markers.” After seeing the quality of training and the multi-disciplinary/holistic approach to fitness, Brock was hooked on learning the sport and started coaching about a year later. After several years of training clients in the introductory sessions, he discovered his passion for teaching others. Whether it’s watching someone conquer that first box jump or helping someone finally get that muscle up after a year of practice, Brock loves seeing that progress and working with someone during every step towards that goal.
You’ll usually find Brock teaching the morning classes or stealing a couple of minutes to break down skills and technique with athletes. When Brock isn’t coaching, he’s a dad roaming the city parks and playgrounds looking for pull-up bars with his three year old.
